Tell us a bit about yourself
I am married and have 2 boys who are 17 and 12, and a Border Collie – Buddy – who spends his day asleep at my feet or asking for his next walk. I studied at RMIT (The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) and graduated from there in the early 2000’s. I’ve lived in Melbourne for most of my life but went to High School in regional Victoria on the south coast.
In my spare time, I enjoy being active. This includes mountain bike riding, snow skiing or simply spending time at the beach. ⛷️🏖️

Although I work from home most days, I can’t start my workday without wearing shoes. 👟
When did you start in LegalTech?
I have worked in technology for over 25 years in various roles, however Xakia is my first time working in LegalTech. I used to work for a consultancy team, where I worked closely with law firms, and it was during this time that I met Jodie, because she was one of our clients. I started at Xakia in October 2017 when Jodie asked me to join the team, and I have loved every minute of it.
What do you love about LegalTech?
Legal is a relatively new domain for me and I am still learning its complexities, but it’s very interesting seeing the things we can do with it and its endless capabilities. I really enjoy seeing a feature come to life that addresses these complexities in an easy-to-use manner.

This is very easy to answer! Xakia has such a talented team and fantastic culture🙌. Everyone has a lot of passion to be the best we can be and do the best work we can do. Everyone is a real go getter, and they understand the complicated matter management system we use, which is very important. We also all know how to work with each other and get the best out of each other.
